Privacy Policy

Miqat is a public flight and hotel comparison service for Umrah travelers. You do not need to create an account, sign in, build a traveler profile, or complete onboarding to use the search experience.

1. Information we process

• Search details you enter, such as airports, destinations, dates, passenger counts, guests, and rooms.
• Limited technical information such as IP address, request metadata, browser information, and a pseudonymous visitor identifier for security, reliability, and rate limiting.
• The email address and message content you provide if you contact us.
• Your theme preference stored locally on your device.

Miqat does not currently collect hotel guest details, payment-card data, or reservation information. Hotel inventory is not yet connected.

2. How we use information

• To return travel-search results and preserve the search you requested.
• To prevent abuse, apply rate limits, investigate security incidents, and keep the service reliable.
• To respond to support, privacy, and general contact messages.
• To understand and improve site performance without selling personal information.

3. Service providers and external booking sites

Miqat uses Duffel for flight-search data, Vercel for hosting, and Upstash for production rate limiting and short-lived cache data. When official hotel inventory and affiliate links are added, this policy will identify those providers before launch.

A future booking link will take you to an external provider. Information you submit there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, not Miqat's. Miqat does not currently process bookings, payments, cancellations, or refunds.

4. Cookies and retention

The ud_vid cookie supports abuse prevention and expires after 7 days. Normal rate-limit windows are short, and flight search or fare cache entries generally expire within minutes or hours. We retain contact messages and security records only as long as reasonably needed for their purpose and applicable obligations. Miqat does not use third-party advertising cookies in the current product.

5. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict processing of personal information. Contact us at privacy@miqat.flights.

6. Security and changes

We use encrypted transport, access controls, data minimization, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We will update this policy and its effective date before materially changing how the public product handles personal information.
